A new zip line experience is proposed for Scarborough, which would be one of the longest in the UK. The zip line would launch from the town's Open Air Theatre in North Bay and travel towards Scalby Mills miniature railway station, offering stunning views of the coastline along the way.

The zip line would be operated by Big Bang Promotions, which has experience running similar attractions elsewhere in the country. The company says that the zip line would be a major boost for tourism in Scarborough, and would help to attract new visitors to the town.

The proposed zip line is still in the planning stages, but if approved, it would be a welcome addition to Scarborough's growing list of attractions.

A bit about Mr Marvels at Scarborough

Nestled along the scenic coastline of Scarborough, England, Mr. Marvels Amusement Park was a beloved destination for thrill-seekers and families alike for over 50 years. Its bright and colourful atmosphere, combined with its unique and quirky attractions, made it a must-visit spot for visitors from around the world.

The park was first opened in 1965 by a man named Fred Marvel, who had a lifelong passion for creating fun and exciting experiences. He transformed a small parcel of land near the beach into a bustling amusement park, complete with roller coasters, Ferris wheels, and other classic rides.

As the years passed, Mr. Marvels continued to grow and evolve. The park added new attractions, including a haunted house, a water park, and a virtual reality ride. They also hosted live shows and events, such as magic shows and circus performances.

One of the most unique features of Mr. Marvels was its collection of oddities and curiosities. Visitors could explore a museum of unusual artefacts, ranging from shrunken heads to giant crystals to antique carnival games. It was like stepping into a world of wonder and mystery.

The park is mainly known as Mr Marvels, the park didn’t actually take the Marvels name until 1987, before this the park was known as Scarborough Zoo & Marineland.

The park featured attractions ranging from a Dolphin Show & Sea lions to a model village and even an adventure playground.

The park later re-branded  and became Mr Marvels Adventure Park which is how it stayed up until it’s closure.

In 1998, Mr. Marvels was purchased by a larger amusement park company, but closed in 2001 with rumours of redevelopment.
